The first time I tried Wok Boyz was more than a year ago at their Internet City branch. This Asian street food outlet blew me away with their vibrant wall art and scintillating food. So, when I had the chance to visit them at their Trade Centre branch, I jumped right in. We all know how the Coronavirus situation has drastically altered the dine-in culture in Dubai and all over the world. This visit of mine was in the first week of March, just before Dubai announced control measures. Hence my family and I had a care-free lunch but with precautions.
Due to the drastic control measures announced, I had put off reviewing this wonderful place but now I feel it is time and if you’re not comfortable dining out, you can always order in and trust me when I say, the food here is simply wow!! Try it to believe it!!
Wok Boyz near Dubai World Trade Centre is located on Al Durrah Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, in full view of the Museum of the Future. The seating is limited, and it is outdoors but the vibrant wall art is amazing for clicking gorgeous food pics and selfies.
We started off with the Wok Boyz signature Spicy Korean Wings, Prawn Tempura and fresh Coconut Water. If you try only one item here, it has to be the Spicy Korean Wings. As the name suggests, it is spicy but so delicious that I kept going back for more. The Prawn Tempura with the dip was good and sipping on fresh Coconut Water from a coconut in the heat was quiet refreshing (it was humid that particular day).
At Wok Boyz, you can create your own wok, with easy to follow step by step instructions on their menu, or you can order some of the pre-defined ones. we decided to go with Nasi Goreng, their way, and another one our way.
The Nasi Goreng was good but not great as I had expected. For build your wok, we chose Udon noodles with Gangnam style sauce, chicken and broccoli. The sauce which is a spicy and sweet Korean chili paste was very flavourful and made the whole dish stand out.
A great place to try Asian flavours at its best!!!
