Freeke Good – Must Try Healthy Outlet with Tantalizing Flavours

The first time I tried Freeke Good, I was blown away that I couldn’t resist trying it again. You can read about my first experience here. So, the second time I ordered from another branch and once again, it was a lip-smacking experience.

Freeke Good is a middle eastern concept focussing on mezzes and freekeh, the super grain, and is a delivery only outlet with multiple locations in Dubai.

Freekeh is essentially wheat that has been harvested early, while the grains are still tender and green. The kernels are then parched, roasted, dried and rubbed to create its flavour. Freekeh retains more nutrients than other grains – providing better nutrition!! Compared to brown rice, Freekeh has up to three times the fibre and double the protein. This nutrient dense plant-based super grain is nutritionally superior to many other grains providing exceptional health benefits.

Since last time was my first experience, I had chosen one of their set freeke bowls, and it was a success. So, this time, I was feeling adventurous and decided to build my own freeke. Zomato has step by step instructions, so you won’t get lost. I chose Spicy Freeke as the base, Shrimp Provencal and Kofta with Tahini Sauce as the 2 mezzes and Cucumber-Mint Yoghurt Sauce and Pita Chips for the 2 toppings. There are four base options to choose from and innumerable hot and cold mezzes. I was seriously spoilt for choice.

The Spicy Freeke base was flavourful and not very spicy. I absolutely loved the Shrimp Provencal with its deliciously tasting tomato and coriander base. The Kofta was tender and was a delicious combination with their homemade tahini sauce. You can order these on their own too and it’s highly recommended.

Since I had heard rave reviews of their Fish Tajine, I ordered a bowl of the same along with Hummus and Fried Cauliflower with Tahini Sauce. I’m not exaggerating when I say that the Fish Tajine was one of the best I’ve tried so far. Topped with chopped pistachios, it was luscious and melting in the mouth. Another dish that I highly recommend!!! Hummus was super creamy and delish. If you’ve read my previous review of Freeke Good, you’d know what a hit the Fried Cauliflower in Tahini Sauce was!! I had to re-live that again 🙂

The portion sizes were filling, and it was worth trying Freeke Good again!!! Try it 🙂
