Dum Biryani is a dark kitchen concept based in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). As the name suggests, their speciality is various types of veg. and non-veg. biryani prepared and served in earthen claypots. That’s right, the biryani of your choice even gets delivered to your doorstep in the claypot… how cool is that!!! In addition to biryanis, they also have a selection of North Indian starters, curries and breads.
Last week, I ordered two biryanis from here – one prawns and the other mutton. The items were neatly packed, labelled, and hot.
Jhinga Masala Biryani where the prawns were cooked in a tomato and onion base with biryani spices. The prawns used were jumbo prawns and were cooked well.
Gosht Hyderabadi Biryani where the lamb and rice were cooked in Hyderabadi style. The meat was tender, and the biryani flavourful.
Both biryanis came with a curd salad as side and the portion size of each is perfect for sharing amongst two. The flavours were good and not too oily nor overly spiced as one would usually find.
