Nowadays, restaurants add their own twists and have created shawarmas that have deviated quite a lot from the original. Some are good while some not so, and it has become difficult to find one with authentic flavours. So, if you’re looking for such authentic shawarmas, then Stopover Restaurant is the place to be!!!
Stopover Restaurant opened its doors a few months ago in Barsha and I can’t believe that I tried this place only a few days ago.
The outlet is funky with red and black interiors and a filling station in one corner. Great for taking pics for the gram. The tables are socially distant, and the restaurant provides options for dine-in, takeaway and home delivery.
The restaurant serves Middle Eastern and Asian quick bites and shawarma tops the list. They have a few varieties of chicken and meat shawarmas. The meat is fresh, and the marination is done in-house. Even the preparation of the sauces and the dips take place in-house. I tried the Mexican Chicken Shawarma and the Classic Meat Shawarma. Both tasted authentic and delicious.
There was also something called Chicken Shawarma Momos. It was the first time that I came across this and I loved it. The accompanying dip was lip-smacking too.
I ordered a DogBoat for my kiddo, which is sausage on a bed of red bean paste, again, prepared in-house, placed on a samoon bread, and topped with mustard sauce. Curly Fries were a beauty to look at and to munch on.
Also tried Lemon & Mint Juice and an Avocado Shake. While the avocado shake was average, the juice was good.
Stopover uses fresh ingredients and fresh meat and prepares all its sauces and dips at the premises, which is why the food tastes amazing and authentic. Stop and Fuel up at Stopover!!
