Pide Keyfi is a casual dining Turkish restaurant located in Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC). They serve typical Turkish food and all their staff are originally from Turkey. They are very friendly and helpful too. The restaurant has both outdoor and indoor seating areas.
My visit to this outlet resulted in ordering a variety of scrumptious meaty dishes and we weren’t disappointed. The dish that truly stood out was the Baked Mushroom. Mushroom baked with a generous topping of cheese, this is definitely a cheese-lover’s dish. Served boiling hot, it’s perfect for this season 😊 Another one of my favourites was the Pide or Turkish Pizza and we had ordered the Kusbasli which contains meat with tomatoes and capsicum. It looks different from the pizzas we are familiar with in that it is shaped like a boat, but the flavours were delicious.
From the grill section, we had a Mix Grill platter and an Eggplant Kebab platter. The Mix Grill consisted of Urfa Kebab, Tikka, Chicken Shish Tawouk,Chicken Wings, Kofte, mini Lahmacun & Kashkaval Pide. Urfa kebab is a signature kebab dish named after one of Turkey’s most famous ‘kebab cities’, Urfa or Sanliurfa. Lahmacun is a round, thin piece of dough topped with minced meat minced vegetables and herbs including onions, tomatoes and parsley, and spices such as cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin and cinnamon, then baked; like a pizza. Kashkaval Pide is Turkish cheese pastry with Kashkaval cheese. Whether you enjoyed my explanations or not, you’ll definitely enjoy the food, but I just had to share my findings with you.
The Eggplant Kebab platter looked very tempting with all the grilled eggplants and kebabs but I felt that the veggies could have been a little more seasoned. Both these were served with Burghul, i.e. Turkish Pilaf, and yoghurt.
We also ordered some Hummus, a Season’s Salad, and a homemade Aryan which is basically a thick buttermilk. And we were also served their pide (flatbread) fresh from the oven.
For dessert, we had Chocolate Souffle as per their recommendation and I simply loved it. The balance of flavours was spot on.
Don’t forget to end your meal with a Turkish Tea as we did 😊
