Curry Culture is a casual dining Indian restaurant located in the outdoor restaurant area in Ibn Battuta Mall. It is quite spacious with outdoor and indoor seating areas and serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. A few days back, I tried their newly introduced thali for lunch and I must say I was pretty impressed.
The vegetarian thali is priced at AED 44/- and non-vegetarian is AED 49/-. The presentation was pretty with the use of copper utensils and the curry bowls are actually placed on a separate piece of curved plate that has its own handle and can be moved around without the plate.
The vegetarian thali consisted of a starter, paneer curry, daal, dry aloo subzi, raita, lachha paratha, peas pulao, papad, mango lassi and a dessert. The starter that I had was mini samosas that went well with the green chutney. The curries too were very well prepared, tasty and flavourful especially the paneer curry. Gulab jamun was also very soft, juicy and sweet, just the way I like it.
The mango lassi was soo yum that I’m still drooling over it. It was thick and mangolicious and topped with chopped pistachios.
The non-veg. thali differs in the starter and instead of paneer, it is a chicken curry. My friends who had this also couldn’t stop raving about it.
Overall, a family friendly place to have a good Indian thali and that too within a mall and not in the food court 😊
