Going through my emails, a few days back made me shrimply excited. Why??!! You must have guessed it by now… it was an invite to visit Shrimpy at their Dubai Marina branch. There are two other branches – one at Dubai Parks and Resorts and the other at Dubai Mall. The one at Dubai Marina is quite small with a limited seating area inside as the majority of their orders is for home deliveries. There’s a pretty outdoor seating area too which during the cooler season would be just perfect.
I opted to dine at this location with my family and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There’s a wall with fun facts about shrimps and it makes for a nice read with the young ones.
We started off by ordering a No. 1 Sandwich for my kiddo. It’s a fried shrimps sandwich served with fries and a drink, and we chose Apple juice. This was a winner as it was completely finished, and it doesn’t happen if it ain’t good. Then we had a Monster Mixed Grill consisting of grilled shrimps and fish with choice of classic, spicy buffalo or teriyaki sauces. It’s also served with fries and a drink. The fish was just melting in the mouth, but my fav was the shrimps.
How can we come to a place full of shrimps and not order Dynamite Shrimps?! It is very different in taste to the other dynamite shrimps especially the very popular ones. These are huge and doused in dynamite sauce but lacked flavour. It was mentioned as spicy but couldn’t feel the heat. Not something that I would recommend. The shrimp fever was going strong, so we had to dig into a Shrimpy Cone as well. Served piping hot, this one made up for the previous dish.
