Casual Dining at its Best at India Palace

India Palace is a casual dining restaurant serving Indian cuisine combined with Mughlai traditions. They have been in the U.A.E. for many years now and I have been visiting their Ibn Battuta Mall branch several times in the past 7 years. I’ve always loved their hospitality and their food and that’s the reason we keep going back.

My recent visit was on a Thursday evening and the restaurant was almost filled. But it didn’t take too long to find a table and very soon our drinks, Mango Lassi and Mint Cooler, and Murg Malai Shorba (Buttery Chicken Soup) found their way to our table. The soup was warm and flavourful and the Mango lassi was refreshing. For starters, we ordered Reshmi Kesari Kebab (Chicken) which was served piping hot. It was hot and juicy and tender.

For main course, we had Murg Biriyani Dum Wala (Chicken Dum Biriyani) and Murg Makhanwala (Butter Chicken) with Garlic & Butter Naans. I’m a big biriyani fan especially chicken biriyanis but this one didn’t tick all the boxes for me. It wasn’t bad but the overall punch of a good biriyani was lacking here. The flavour lost there was definitely made up by the Murg Makhanwala. Buttery rich, thick gravy with tender chicken pieces with freshly made garlic naan was absolute bliss.

Last but NEVER the least, dessert time 😊 And this time, I tried something new….. Shahi Brownie. Brownie slathered in rabdi…. I thought it would be a weird combination but it was yumm!!! Definitely not for those watching their calorie intake 😉 The brownie was too cold and hard at first, but upon request, they warmed it up perfectly.

This branch of India Palace definitely deserves a 5-star rating based on my dining experience over here over the years. The consistency is commendable.
