Hopped in here last week to meet some friends thinking that the place would be quiet since it was mid-week and there wasn’t any game happening, but, oh boy, was I surprised!!! It was pretty much packed, but service was on point all the time. They have a good variety of dishes, surprisingly for a sports bar from wings, to lamb chops to burgers, sandwiches, to pub favourites to even desserts 😊
The Huddle Sports Bar & Grill is located within City Max Hotel in Al Barsha with free parking at the basement. There’s a pool table and multiple screens to entertain the guests. Since I don’t drink and drive, I stayed sober and so did a few friends. We had Virgin Mojitos, Virgin Pinacoladas, and Fruit Punch, while the guys had Hoegaarden. We were also served some salted popcorn to start.
We literally ordered almost everything on their menu, and I wasn’t disappointed. Tried their Wings with all the four types of sauces on their menu – Peri Peri, BBQ, Spicy and forgot the fourth one… these were good, my favourite being the spicy one though it wasn’t too hot to handle. An absolute must-try is Jalapeno Poppers, a unanimous winner on the table. The Calamari Rings were crispy and not too rubbery.
The vegetarian amongst us ordered Nachos and Sweet Potato Fries. The fries were good, but nachos were average.
Another highly recommended dish is Chicken Tikka. Do not forget to try this while you’re there. From the grill, we had Lamb Chops – flavourful but too rare for my liking. Though the guys thoroughly enjoyed it. Fish and Chips was decent and so was the Steak and Guinness Pie. BBQ Chicken Pizza was huge and delish.
Now let’s come to the main part – Desserts and that too in a pub!!! We actually ordered all four of them. Raspberry Cheesecake looked pretty and was divine. Everyone was crazy about the Loaded Churros filled with cream cheese and chocolate. Warm Chocolate Brownie with a scoop of Vanilla Ice-cream was average while Molten Mess did create a mess but totally worth it.
A must-try place for their awesome food and desserts and wonderful vibes. The only sad part is that kids are not allowed.
