Melt and Roast is a newly launched dining concept in Dubai Media City serving Indian, Chinese and Continental dishes from breakfast to lunch to dinner. I visited them last week on a weekday afternoon with my hubby, reaching well before the rush time.
The restaurant is spacious enough to accommodate around 50 people at the same time. There is also a reading corner with some interesting books for adults and kids.
I ordered a Masala Chai to start with while hubby had a Lakers Detoxifying Juice. There was nothing extra-ordinary about the chai, but the juice was refreshing.
We ordered one of their best burgers which is Melt ‘n’ Roast Chicken Burger. Loved the flavours especially the gooey cheese and the fact that the onions were caramelised and not raw. A word of caution don’t spend too long clicking pictures or it’s bound to get soggy. We were also served a Chicken Cutlet, homestyle but a little bigger than the usual size, with a cheesy centre.
Lunch Combo consists of American, Chinese, and Grill Combos. I chose a Non-veg. Chinese Combo which consists of a satay, a non-veg. curry, salad and noodles or fried rice or half-half of both. This was enjoyable and tasty. Both the noodles and the fried rice were prepared well and made a good combination with the chicken gravy.
Upon the staff’s recommendation, we tried the Cheese Pizza Dosa which is basically a dosa topped with cheese and various coloured capsicum and sliced like a pizza. It was good but not enjoyable after two slices as it was too big and the Italian flavours didn’t blend well with the South Indian delicacy. Not sure if they serve smaller portions but the accompanying red chutney was mind-blowing.
Overall, a new restaurant in Dubai Media City which is multi-cuisine and worth checking out especially their lunch combos.
