Tea unites people irrespective of culture and creed and spreads happiness and it is this thought that might have been the setting stone for Uncle Tea. Uncle Tea also believes that any time is tea time especially in this part of the world where every tea has a story to tell.
To learn more about them and to try some of the new items on their menu, a few of my friends and I got together at their second and latest location in Al Barsha. This outlet is comparatively bigger than the other branch and also has a few more items on their menu. The outdoor seating area is more spacious and there is a well-defined space for families. I’m impressed 😊
As soon as we arrived, we were served Pineapple Juice in the form a Welcome Drink. Then each one ordered as per their liking and we all shared the food.
They are well-known for their teas and also for the bubble drinks. So I ordered a Mango Indulgence that tasted alright but did look a lot different from the picture in the menu. Also tried Watermelon Juice and Berry Smash. My vote goes for the mango drink.
Amongst the sandwiches that I tried, Chicken Grill and Mushroom Alfredo, chicken grill is their bestseller and its easy to see why. It was creamy and the chicken pieces were tender. The mushroom alfredo was delish too and the portion sizes are filling. Both are served with fries on the side.
Next up was Bombay Special Vada Pav, which tasted well with the chutnies, and Uncle’s Samosas which I loved. Kheema Pav was surprisingly flavourful and juicy.
We also tried their Mexican and Spicy Chicken Shawarmas. Among the two, I would recommend the spicy one as the chicken in it was tender and the shawarma as a whole was juicy and packed with flavour. But the Mexican was quite dry.
Ziggy Fries with Cheese made an appearance, though the fries were good and not soggy, I was disappointed with the less amount of cheese on it.
Though we all were pretty full by this time, we had to try their biriyanis and pasta. So we ordered a Chicken Biryani and a Chicken Pasta. Loved the pasta with the creamy sauce. The biryani was good too with succulent and flavoursome chicken pieces. The portion sizes are very filling.
Ended the night with each one ordering a different type of Tea – Tandoori, Zafrani etc while I had Kashmiri Chai. It was good and garnished with a lot of chopped nuts.
Overall, a nice place to hang out after work or on weekends sipping on some tea and munching on their quick bites. Pocket-friendly too!!
